Schedule unpublishedState Council has not published 2031 调休. Typically announced November 2030
- The date, and why
- Spring Festival 2031 (lunar New Year's Day) falls on Saturday, February 1. That is the traditional festival date, not a published State Council holiday window. The 2031 调休 schedule has not been announced.
- What kind of holiday
- Spring Festival is China's most important traditional holiday. Under the current national holiday measures, the statutory stretch is Lunar New Year's Eve through the third lunar day. How those days are combined with weekends (调休) is unpublished for 2031 — we show the traditional date only.
- Where it counts as statutory
- Spring Festival is a nationwide statutory festival. After the notice is published, government offices, schools, and banks usually follow the window. Until the 2031 schedule appears, employers have not been told how many consecutive days off to give.
- Long weekend
- Lunar New Year's Day 2031 is Saturday, February 1 (Saturday). Once the State Council publishes 调休, adjacent weekends are often folded into a longer break — we will not guess those makeup days here.
- What closes
- Until the 2031 notice is published, there is no official closure window to list. In past years banks and most offices close for the observed Spring Festival window and Chunyun travel peaks — treat that as history, not a 2031 schedule.
- Where the name comes from
- Spring Festival marks the lunar new year. Traditions include family reunion dinners, red envelopes, and fireworks. The lunar date can be calculated; the State Council makeup-work window cannot.
Frequently Asked Questions
- When is Spring Festival 2031?
- Lunar New Year's Day 2031 is Saturday, February 1. The State Council holiday window is not published yet.
- Has the 2031 holiday schedule been published?
- No. The State Council has not issued the 2031 notice. “Not yet published” means we show traditional festival dates only — no makeup workdays and no invented Golden Week. The notice usually appears in November 2030.
- When does the State Council usually publish the 2031 schedule?
- Recent notices landed in November of the prior year (the 2026 schedule was published in November 2025). Expect the 2031 notice around November 2030 on gov.cn.
- Spring Festival 2031 falls on a Saturday — what does that mean?
- Lunar New Year's Day 2031 is Saturday (Saturday, February 1). Prior years often folded nearby weekends into a longer break, but we will not invent 2031 makeup workdays.
- What was the 2026 Spring Festival schedule?
- 2026 was published: Feb 15–23 off (9 days), with makeup work on Feb 14 and Feb 28. Use the 2026 Spring Festival page — do not copy that table onto 2031.
